A Letter from John
Greetings Everyone,
It’s John.
I want to apologize for being so unavailable. As you probably know, I had open heart surgery on July 8. They said to give myself 12 weeks to rehabilitate. They were right. So far I’ve primarily been home these last 8 weeks, resting. I’ll be back at Inner Path starting the first week of September. As previously mentioned, for the month of September we will be closed for events and private appointments and will be open for “sale shoppers” and those offering volunteer assistance.
Inner Path has had a great 12 years at our Commercial Street location. As hard as Neera and I have tried, we have not been able to find a suitable replacement location. Thus, at this point, I would say that there is an 80% chance that we will need to close. The remaining 20% would occur if someone comes in with a location we hadn’t known about, or some unique offering comes our way.
Please don’t feel bad for our loss. When one door closes another surely opens. I was fairly convinced that “other option” was going to be a new center. As I meditated and reviewed what I felt God and Guru wanted me to do, however, I came to understand that it was actually in my best interest to not be burdened with the development of a new center at this time. Consequently, I have found peace in the idea of closing Inner Path, either permanently or temporarily, and working on the many other projects I have felt inspired to do.
In fact, I had been waiting for some time to find a way to hire someone to take over Inner Path to give myself the time I needed for those projects. That “someone” came to be Neera who, I think you’ll agree, has done a wonderful job in the role of Assistant Manager. With her effort, and David’s many years of service, Inner Path has been able to maintain its wonderful serviceful atmosphere. My deepest appreciation to both of them.
And lastly, allow me to thank each of you. The teachers and students and attendees. I estimate that we’ve offered over 100 events a month, 1,200 a year, 14,000+ in our 12 year period. That’s a lot of service, a lot of “God Serving God” as the Masters would say. So glad that you could be with us.
